About

Hey, my name is Megan Libby. I am runner and a pediatric registered nurse with a great love for the outdoors and reading. I am from and currently live  in Calgary AB. I have lived in Vancouver BC, Antigonish Nova Scotia, and Edmonton AB.

After living in many different cities across Canada, I was very excited to move back closer to the mountains a few years ago. I recently came across something I wrote when I was living in Nova Scotia and I feel it holds true.

“The rocky mountain skies, the fires that keep you warm, the views that let you breath, an addiction that is so perfectly peaceful and yet so temporary you always want more. It leaves you believing in everything once more”

The outdoors has always been the biggest and most constant thing in my life. I grew up outside and it continues to be the space that gives me peace and clarity. The outdoors taught me so much about myself.  I want to share those experiences with other people.

As much as I would love to spend all my time outside I also need to work. I am lucky enough to be able to work as a paediatric nurse. The job comes with many challenges, at the end of the day I don’t really think there is another career path for me. It has a good mix of science, human connection as well as no day is the same so it’s hard to get bored. Shift work is both curse and gift it just depends on the day. The one thing I do appreciate about it is how I do not need to wait for weekends to get outside.

My family has enabled me to pursue my career and adventures outside. My family has always been a huge part of my life. Both my parents work in the medical field which I find is double edge sword. I find I am always looking to live up to their expectations but they always understand those really rough days at work. I am so grateful for them for introducing to the outdoors and sports. They taught me and shared with me many of the things I love today. Last year I expanded my family by getting married; it is still one if not the best day of my life so far.

I am passionate about being the best version of yourself, helping others through the worst days and living it up with them during their best. Creating a blog is in part for myself, but I also wish to share my experiences and passion for the outdoors, active lifestyle, good literature and life in general with the wonderful people reading. Connecting with people makes life worth living, it makes us stronger.
